The USA Table Tennis (USATT) is recognized by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) as the National Governing Body for the Olympic Sport of Table Tennis in the USA. USATT is proud to announce its partnership with and endorsement of the Table Tennis Charity Foundation and the PingPongforCHARITY™ Celebrity SLAMFest Events and Recreation Tournament located in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Gordon Kaye, former Chairman of the USATT Board, states “Our two organizations share a common mission which, in part, is to promote and grow the sport of table tennis. While the mission of the USATT includes all of the United States, the mission of the Table Tennis Charity Foundation, a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, is to bring the sport of table tennis to one community at a time through grassroots efforts – efforts aimed initially at involving local schools through a Table Tennis Sport and Education Program with the intention of replicating it to larger markets. And while integrating the sport in our school systems is exciting, our partnership with the Table Tennis Charity Foundation now provides a realistic means to offer interested Non-Profit Charity Partner Organizations a unique fundraising blueprint to create their own local area Annual PingPongforCHARITY™ Celebrity SLAMFest Events and Recreation Tournaments.”
The Table Tennis Charity Foundation has an additional, and very worthwhile mission which is to raise awareness and funding for Brain Fitness & Mental Health through a program called “Cross-Train Your Brain through Table Tennis.” Dr. Scott Sautter, Board Certified Neuropsychologist and Chair of the Table Tennis Charity Foundation points out that “Neuroscience has demonstrated aerobic exercise improves brain function, and table tennis uniquely offers participants exercise of the mind and body in a safe activity for everyone at any age.”
We believe that this partnership with the Table Tennis Charity Foundation will be of mutual benefit to both of our organizations as we combine efforts to promote and grow the sport of table tennis, while also raising awareness of the mental health and brain fitness benefits of playing the game.
Cross Train Your Brain: Play Ping Pong.
With kind regards,
Gordon Kaye
